Robert Bradley Alderfer, JD, CFP®, CLU®, ChFC®, MSFS, RICP®, WMCP®, CAP®, ChSNC®, CRPS®, QPFC, CEPA®, CAIA®, TPCP®, is an adjunct faculty member at The American College of Financial Services teaching primarily in the Master of Science in Financial Planning (MSFP) Program. In addition, he also serves as an instructional assistant supporting the Wealth Management Certified Professional® (WMCP®) and Tax Planning Certified Professional® (TPCP®) Programs. He is a recipient of the 2025 American College Faculty Award for Excellence in Service.

A 40+-year veteran of the financial services industry, Alderfer has gained an abundance of experience in the areas of financial planning, business and estate planning, and retirement planning. He currently focuses on working with employer-sponsored retirement plans. He graduated from Michigan State University with High Honors, earned a law degree (JD) from DePaul University and a master’s degree in financial services (MSFP) from The College, along with professional designations in qualified and non-qualified retirement plans, exit planning, estate planning, philanthropy, wealth management, planning for special needs, alternative investments, business succession planning, and retirement income planning.

Alderfer has held the CFP® certification since 1987. In addition, he is a credentialed member of the National Association of Plan Advisors (NAPA), a Chartered Alternative Investment Analyst® (CAIA®) holder, and a member of MENSA.
